Notifications

Choose who in your company is told when an invoice is paid or a filing deadline comes up

Some notifications are the company's to decide: whether they go out, and who hears about them. You choose both in Manage, under Settings → Notifications.

Each kind has its own card:

  • Invoice paid: when a client pays an invoice.
  • Filing deadlines: SARS and CIPC filings coming up or due. This card only shows for South African companies.

On each card you can:

  • switch it on or off
  • add the people in your company who should be told, one at a time or with Add everyone with access
  • add other email addresses, such as your bookkeeper's or your outside accountant's

Save the card when you're done. Switching it off takes effect straight away and tells nobody until you switch it back on. Add everyone with access adds the people who have access today; someone who gets access later isn't added until you add them.

Which filing deadlines Looped tracks, and how many days ahead the first reminder goes out, are set in Financials under Settings → Reminders.

Who can be told

A notification only goes to people who can see what it's about:

CardWho can be chosen
Invoice paidPeople who can see invoices in Invoices
Filing deadlinesPeople who can see reports in Financials

Owners can always be chosen. If someone on a card loses that access, they stop being told, and the card shows a badge such as No Invoices access next to their name so you can see why. Give them the role again, or take them off the card. People who leave the company stop being told too.

How each person hears about it

The people you add get the notification in the bell in the header. Whether it also arrives as a push notification on their devices or as an email is their own choice, in Profile → Notifications, under From your company. Push is the default. That page also tells each person whether your company tells them about each kind.

Turning both push and email off is how someone mutes a notification: it still lands in their bell. To be taken off a card, they ask someone who can change it. The extra addresses you add get an email.

Who can change it

Owners and Admins can change every card. People who can change an app's settings can also change that app's card: anyone who can change Invoices settings can change Invoice paid, and anyone who can change Financials settings, such as an Accountant, can change Filing deadlines. They only see the cards they can change.
